Cannabidiol or CBD is a cannabinoid found in cannabis buds. Cannabidiol is the non-psychotropic molecule of cannabis known to have a calming effect and which can be legally sold in several countries. It should be mentioned that CBD-based products sold legally in Switzerland have a low THC dose.

Terpenes are organic compounds or molecules found in all types of plants, including cannabis and hemp. They are what give plants their flavors and aromas, thus letting plants repel parasites and attract useful pollinators.

There are more than 200 terpenes in cannabis which act on the body's cannabinoid receptors. They thus regulate exchanges between the cannabinoids in the plant and receptors in our nervous system (CB1 and CB2).

Like essential oil, certain terpenes are more powerful than others, and the effects felt vary from person to person.

According to a 2017 report, the Expert Committee on Drug Dependence of the WHO (World Health Organization) judged that CBD is neither a doping drug nor a narcotic. This report also confirmed that cannabidiol(CBD molecule) cannot be abused, nor is it harmful to peoples' health.

Since January 2020, many countries worldwide have authorized some or all cannabis derivatives. Other countries limit the use of CBD to therapeutic or recreational purposes, including Canada, South Africa, certain states in the United States. Finally, some countries only allow CBD to be used for therapeutic purposes, including the United Kingdom, Italy, Mexico...

CBD is 100% legal thanks to its THC level that is less than 1% of total dry mass. Indeed, in Switzerland, hemp is only considered a narcotic when its THC level is above 1%. In Europe the maximum level is 0.3% THC.

In addition to preventing and relieving pain, CBD is very effective in acting on the body's cannabinoid system. It naturally stimulates the CB2 receptors which are generally found on our immune system cells. CBD can thus moderate inflammation, balance the immune system and protect you from oxidative stress.

The effects of consuming CBD in an e-cigarette depend on the propylene-glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG) in your e-liquid. The PG/VG ratio is measured as a percentage, and is often in an 80/20 proportion for CBD-based e-liquids. If their concentration exceeds 600 mg/10 ml it becomes a booster and must be diluted. CBD and THC are two molecules that come from the same plant: cannabis. Also called cannabinoids, CBD and THC act differently on your metabolism. It has greater benefits than other cannabinoids, but it is much rarer and more difficult to produce.
